Safe use of a Scepter Jerry Can

Your new Scepter fuel container comes equipped with a flame mitigation device (FMD). Never remove or alter the flame mitigation device inside the container opening. The FMD is a safety device intended to reduce the chance of some types of fires or explosions.

Remember: FUEL AND NEVER MIX. Never pour gasoline, diesel or kerosene directly onto or near a flame, coals, embers, or any other sources of ignition. No fuel container, including one with a flame mitigation device (FMD) should ever be used to start or accelerate a fire. Using fuel to start or accelerate a fire is extremely hazardous and can lead to fires and explosions causing serious burns and even death.
