Manufacturing Capabilities

Scepter has the ability to respond quickly to customers' orders, to customize product to match customers' exact requirements, and to ramp up production rapidly. The plant is a 24-hour-a-day, 5-day-a-week operation with three shifts. Weekends are used for production when required. Production is done on 19 injection-moulding machines and 13 blow-moulding machines, plus auxiliary equipment. Innovative in-house engineers design moulds and develop materials for use in production. Mould manufacturing is done in-house in a modern manufacturing facility, with a fully equipped maintenance area and stockroom, and 85,000 square feet of warehouse space for finished products. The lab is certified by CSA and ULI, and Scepter is ISO 9001:2000 certified.

Blow-Moulding Machines

Scepter has 13 blow-moulding machines, with the capacity to process over ten million kilos per year. They range in size from 2 ton through 150 ton, clamp force. Shot size ranges from point one kilograms through 12 kilograms. The average part size ranges from 5 litres through 30 litres.

Product Testing and Equipment

Scepter is ISO 9002:2000 certified. Quality control procedures are strictly adhered to. Each step of the process is documented in writing, ensuring customers that we deliver the quality we promise.

Scepter's Quality Assurance Lab is certified by the Canadian Standards Association and by Underwriters Laboratories Incorporated. It is equipped with various measuring and testing devices to test dimensional and performance specifications.

New Technology

Scepter is committed to investing in and using new technology in order to design and manufacture quality products cost effectively. We are continually upgrading equipment.

Robotics

All new equipment purchased is state-of-the-art. Improvements, such as robotics, allow us to make the manufacturing process safer and more cost effective.

Material Development

Scepter is on the leading edge in the development of new resins. We maintain a wider-than-average range of resins. In addition, our Material Development engineer designs custom blends to match the specific needs of new products.

Logistics / Distribution

Timely delivery is of paramount importance to our clients, and within Scepter.

Complementing our ability to execute rapid product changes, Scepter maintains a well-balanced inventory and product mix that is continually adjusted to reflect expected market demand. Our logistics experts manage our inventory out of 2 on-site warehouses totalling over 100,000 sq.ft. (9,300 sq.M) plus a 35,000 sq.ft. (3,200 sq.M) off-site distribution facility.

To better serve our international clients, we maintain inventory of selected products at locations in Europe.

Distributors both internationally and in North America are ready to support Scepter clients with product and service from their local facilities.

Environmental Responsibility

Scepter is committed to protecting the environment. Through investment in in-house recycling technologies Scepter is able to reduce product waste and avoid alternative waste-streams. Realizing our customers don't always have access to recycling, in certain cases we can provide access to our technology and reprocess selected materials into new, market-ready products.

Our environmental objective is to have a minimal negative impact on the environment while providing optimal solutions to our clients.

Injection-Moulding Equipment

Scepter has 19 injection-moulding machines. They range in size from 80 tons through 2200 metric tons. Shots sizes range from 0.25 kilograms through 17 kilograms. Several machines are equipped with barrels and screws for processing glass-filled materials, further enhancing Scepter's production capabilities.
